.Set me free.

Like soaring birds

That navigate through the skies

Like ships

That sail through the air

Like pidgeons

That are set loose

Like souls

That are no longer bound by chains

Like prisoners

That are no longer imprisoned

Like my secrets

That aren't so secret

Like spies

That get locked up

Like dogs

That are muzzled

Like feelings

That are always supressed

Like truths

That never get told

Like stories

That are long forgotten

Like those who died

That never made an impact

Like people

That can't do what they want

Like caged birds

.Help I'm trapped.

Now read it backwards.

Sorry, :iconpoketato: , I kinda took your idea of writing a poem in reverse. Except, yours is so much better and more creative than mine. I just wanted to see if I could even do it.

Yeah, so read it from the bottom up after you finish.

It's supposed to gradually change from free -> trapped in the poem and vice versa when you read it the other way.

I hope you like it ;-;

Haha, awesome -- I really like it.

It definitely gets darker the further down you go (an interesting metaphor in and of itself, now that I think about it), and I was really surprised by the hopelessness of it all. So I think it's a wonderful application of this whole reversal thing, because you don't really want the poem to end on such a sad note -- by telling us we can rewind, letting us read it backwards, you're letting the reader go back and end the poem on a high note. I dunno how to describe it, just that it sort of feels like getting a second chance, maybe gaining a new perspective on something you didn't quite appreciate enough the first time around. My poem was just pretty hopeless in either direction, lol.

I'm sorry I didn't say anything about it in school, I didn't get a chance to read this until I got home today.

By the way, I'm glad you're submitting more writing stuff now. You should, y'know, keep doing that. Perhaps even more often. =)

Thank you for the input! I appreciate it :3

Aww, thank you. I'll try. ^_^; I'm not that great at writing, and I want to improve a lot, so maybe this'll help me.

You should do what I do - submit a new crappy little poem every day or so and get all of your friends mad at you for flooding their inbox over time.

It's fun! =)
